Happy New Year

Welcome to the New Year. I am so excited about all the things that God is going to do for the body of Christ. As you know, everyone is talking about a “new beginning”. Take the time to set and write the things that you intend to accomplish this year and begin working towards them. One of my favorite scriptures is Habbakuk 2:2 “…Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (KJV) It’s amazing how when you write things down and put a plan in place to accomplish them, how things just seem to start happening. In December of 2007, a friend of mine told me a part of his life story. He talked about how when he was struggling, trying to accomplish his dreams, that he would often hear God say “Just keep moving” even if it’s taking baby steps. Just Keep moving. That word “keep moving” has encouraged me so. It’s so simple, yet so powerful. So as my friend encouraged me with those words, I would like to encourage you. This year, just “keep moving”. Don’t stop. “Keep moving” even if the steps are baby steps. If you keep moving, no matter what, you will find that you have accomplished so much by the end of the year and God will honor your perseverance and determination. Be blessed and Don’t forget to pray and read God’s word daily.

Happy New Year to you and your new blog and website. I look forward to engaging in meaningful dialog with you and supporters of this blog. You are right that this is the time of the year when people and organizations write visions and make personal goals. Some people do not like to make resolution because they end up not keeping them.

However, I think its a great thing to do and like you said “just keep moving” even if it’s with baby steps. If you break your resolution, at least you would have moved a little close to your goal. A great way to help keep your resolution is to tell a lot of people about them (i.e. if its not too personal) and maybe even invite them to checkup on your progress during the year (if your bold enough). I have shared with my wife my resolutions and as you know, spouses can be a great motivator in keeping your feet to the fire. One of my resolutions that I would like to share with you is that starting on Monday January 07, 2008 I will start a person diary. This is something I used to in my last year of high school. I regretted stopping. I have even attempted to start several other times but did not continue. With God’s help I will start again.

One of my “friends” Dennis Prager (http://pragerradio.com) suggested that there are three areas in which one should make resolutions: Health, Happiness, and Character. These are good areas to start and I’m sure that you expand the categories. Just remember that whatever you do, do it all to the gory of God. Soli Deo Gloria
