Beware

Good Morning: 

In our lesson today, our Lord warns us against false prophets and shows us how we can identify them.  We are living in a time where moral relativism (whatever feels right for me) is at an all time high even among some of what the world deems as “role models.” 

New Agers, Spiritualists, etc are invading our airwaves proclaiming and teaching that it is not necessary to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and the work of the cross is of non-affect.    They come in all shapes, sizes, and forms disguised as doers of good and for many of them, they honestly believe they have found the way and want to share it with the world. 

People are free to believe whatever they want in this world but any gospel other than that of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ according to the bible that I believe in is false.  Jesus also dealt with false prophets and other teachings in his day.  This is nothing new.  Jesus condemned it then and he instructs us to beware. 

Here is our text.  Matthew 7:15-2015 ”Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.  

Look at the text, you may say…  but some of these people do good deeds and isn’t that classified as good fruits.   Whenever you teach anything contrary to the “holy scriptures” it is not good fruits no matter what your charitable contributions to society have been.    Money cannot save you, good deeds cannot save you only the gospel of Jesus Christ.    The soul does have a destiny……  heaven or hell.      Remember, our Lesson on yesterday..  this text flows out of that,  only a few will find it…………..
