Respect and Honor

Hello:

Our text for today is:

Matthew 8:14 When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. 16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.”

For those of you that are following daily, then you know that this is the third miracle that Matthew records and each one is done differently.

The healing of the leper was a request from the leper to be healed and Jesus touched him.  The healing of the centurion’s servant was a request but Jesus spoke the word and he was healed.  In the case of the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law, the text simply says that when Jesus entered the house, he saw her sick and healed her.

Then we see for the first time in the text where Jesus begins to cast out demons and adds to his reputation as a healer.  As you can see from the text healings come in different forms.  I always tell people that you can’t create a formula for how God is going to do something and how it happened for someone else does not necessarily mean that it will happen that way for the next person.Jesus spoke the word based on a request, he touched based on a request and then he just healed with no request recorded. One of the things that I constantly pray for is that a revival of miracles would come back into the life of the church.  Let me be clear, I do know that miracles still exist, I have experienced it myself but I still pray and believe that the season of miracles that the ancient world experienced will once again infiltrate the church for I personally believe it will help restore the respect and honor back to the church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  However, God does it; I do believe with all my heart that respect and honor for the church will be restored.God Bless!!!!

Don’t forget to pray and read God’s word daily.
