Mustard Seed Faith

Good Morning:

Today, we return to our study on Matthew.

Our text for today is:

Matthew 13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof

Today in our parable, Jesus gives us insight as to what the kingdom of heaven is like and he does it in parable form.     This is a familiar passage of scripture that we have all heard many times having the faith of a mustard seed. Yet out of all the things that Jesus could have compared the

kingdom of

God
to he chose a mustard seed.  An extremely small seed that from some thing I have read is packed so tight that no air can get in and this same seed can withstand great amounts of pressure.

When you start with even just a little faith it can withstand the pressure of ridicule, the pressure of hurt and abuse, the pressure of rejection and loneliness , the pressure of unfulfilled dreams and visions that have been a long time in coming to pass. The history of the church records that many died trying to spread the gospel and even in trying to get the gospel into the hands of the people, although they did not see the accomplishments of the gospel of today, faith kept them in the fight.

Jesus is saying that faith sown in your heart, though pressure comes and things are a long time in coming when faith has grown, or come to a place of maturity it produces a life that people  can see and because of the testimony of faith in your life others turn to Christ and grow.

So, let us all calm down and love our enemies, do good to those that despitefully use us and be a walking epistle to be read of this world.

Stay encouraged!!!!

All is well, everything is safe, and everything is as it should be.Don’t forget to pray and read God’s word daily.

Bless you Sista Bernice for reminding us about keeping our faith through it all…I always think of 1 Corinthians 2:5 -”So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”. Thanks so much for the encouragement for us all.
